Tata Chemicals donates oxygen concentrators to Nellore administration

Five oxygen concentrators given, each with 10 litre per minute capacity

With the second wave of COVID-19 and rising cases, the shortage of oxygen supply has become a nationwide crisis. To help combat this crisis, Tata Chemicals has stepped up its' efforts by extending support to the communities in and around Mambattu by procuring and donating five oxygen concentrators to the Nellore district administration through its CSR arm, TCSRD (Tata Chemicals Society for Rural Development).

As part of the Company’s COVID relief efforts, the oxygen concentrators were handed over to K. Chakradhar Babu, Nellore District Collector by Tata Chemicals representatives, Biswaroop, Business Head, Tata Chemicals Mambattu, K. Suresh, Site Head, Tata Chemicals Mambattu, along with other employees.

Alka Talwar, Head – CSR & Sustainability, Tata Chemicals, said, “The wellbeing of the communities has always been paramount for us. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have launched multiple efforts to support the communities. Providing oxygen concentrators in Mambattu is a step towards joining forces with the local authorities to overcome the challenges of this crisis. Through these efforts, we not only want to support the people of the society in which we operate, but also contribute to the nation’s fight against the pandemic.”
