United Phosphorus has posted a 33.5 percent increase in its consolidated net profit after tax with Income from Associate Companies of Rs 83.31 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010 as compared to Rs 62.85 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2009.
Total income has increased 7.81 percent from Rs 1157.97 crore for Q3 2009-10 Rs 1248.36 crore for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2010. On standalone basis, the company has posted a net profit from ordinary activities after tax of Rs 47.32 crore for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2010 as compared to Rs 77.94 crore for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2009, decline of 39.29 percent. Total income has increased 21.95 percent from Rs 664.56 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2009 to Rs 810.40 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.
The firm, India's largest pesticide maker,
reported foreign exchange losses of Rs 35.47 crore for the quarter, mainly on
foreign currency loans or advances, as compared to a gain of Rs 17.55 crore last
year, it said in a filing to the BSE.
