Yara cuts ammonia production due to higher gas prices in Europe

Company has curtailed around 40% of its European ammonia production capacity due to high gas costs

  • By ICN Bureau | September 20, 2021
Yara International last week stated that record high natural gas prices in Europe are impacting ammonia production margins, and as a result the company is curtailing production at a number of its plants. Including optimization of on-going maintenance, Yara will by this week have curtailed around 40% of its European ammonia production capacity.

The company will continue to monitor the situation, with the objective to keep supplying customers but curtailing production where necessary.
