Production and availability of fertilizers during November 2011

In November, 2011 production of urea had been more than the target by 0.26 lakh MT. Estimated production of urea during November, 2011 was 17.69 lakh MT against the target of 17.43 lakh MT.

In November, 2011 production of urea had been more than the target by 0.26 lakh MT. Estimated production of urea during November, 2011 was 17.69 lakh MT against the target of 17.43 lakh MT. Estimated production of DAP during the month was 2.27 lakh MT as against the target of 3.87 lakh MT. Production of DAP had been less than the target by 1.6 lakh MT.

During November 2011, approximately 20.98 lakh MT (both indigenous and imported) urea was dispatched to various States. Availability of urea during the month of November 2011 was about 25.37 lakh MT and availability was satisfactory in all the states. Further, sale of urea in the current season up to 30.11.2011 was about 184.22 lakh MT which is higher by 5.49% as compared to the sale of 174.63 lakh MT in the corresponding period of the previous year.

As regards decontrolled fertilizers, availability of DAP and MOP during the month of November 2011 had been about 14.32 lakh MT and 4.95 lakh MT respectively, which was adequate to meet the demand of the States.

During the month of November 2011, 14.66 lakh MT of urea was imported of which 1.30 lakh MT was imported from OMIFCO, Oman and 13.36 lakh MT from others. In addition, 6.70 lakh MT of DAP, 0.79 lakh MT of MAP,1.15 lakh MT of TSP, 6.07 lakh MT of NPK and 9.08 lakh MT of MOP was also imported into the country.
