On the night of Friday, May 21, 2021, an attack with malware on Siegfried's IT network was discovered by internal monitoring services. As a result, production was safely reduced at various locations, the network connections were interrupted and all IT systems were subjected to an in-depth investigation, which is currently still ongoing. The safety of all employees and production facilities was guaranteed at all times. With the exception of the two locations in Spain, which have an isolated network, there will be different levels of production interruptions at the other locations.

 

The cooperation with external specialists for IT infrastructure and security runs smoothly and efficiently. In the meantime, the cause has been identified and the restoration of the systems has begun. This also includes clarifying the point in time at which the IT systems will be fully functional again.
