Confirmed speakers are: Dr R. K. Malhotra, Director General, FIPI; Sturle Harald Pedersen, Chairman, Greenstat Hydrogen India; D. M. R. Panda, GM - Hydrogen, National Thermal Power Corporation, Dr. Klaus Brun, Director - Research and Development, Elliot Group; Jitendra Goyal, General Manager - R&D, Toyota Kirloskar Motor; and Anurag Pandey, Team lead, Reliance Industries Ltd. The session will be moderated by Amrit Singh Deo, Sr. Managing Director, FTI Consulting.

Being held on the second day of the virtual summit, the panel discussion will focus on topics such as developing a hydrogen economy ecosystem, cost comparison with other ecosystems providing government grants for R&D, pilots and upskilling, development related to electrolyzers, storage and renewable energy, storage, safety and environmental concerns.

The world is seriously following the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and Green is rapidly becoming the new kid on the hydrogen block.

Hydrogen is a zero-emissions source of fuel and can be used as a feedstock gas for industries such as chemical, refining, fertiliser, steel and others. Hydrogen supports a gradual transition towards lower-carbon sources of energy as it can be generated from natural gas and other non-renewable by-products. The demand for hydrogen technologies is growing as it is accelerating the transition to more sustainable forms of energy while still supporting current energy models with all their regional variations.

Hydrogen can be generated at scale with a zero carbon footprint by using renewable energy such as solar or wind power. Green hydrogen, which uses renewable energy to produce hydrogen from water, is taking off around the globe. Many companies, investors, governments, and environmentalists believe it is an energy source that could help end the reign of fossil fuels and slow the world’s warming trajectory.

India is also uniquely positioned to adopt Green Hydrogen, with several favourable factors. Green hydrogen provides significant opportunities for India to expand into a new clean energy technology sector, developing domestic manufacturing expertise to supply both the Indian market and abroad.

The idea behind ‘NextGen Chemicals & Petrochemicals Summit 2021’ is to provide a premier forum for the high quality deliberations. Apart from offering insights from who’s who of the chemical and petrochemical industry, it will provide ample networking opportunities with industry experts and solution providers. The delegates can network with key decision makers from the chemical and petrochemical industry all under one roof with participation from CMDs, CEOs, MDs, and government officials.

The summit is supported by the leading names in the industry. Among the platinum partners are: AspenTech, Trend Miner, Elliot Group, and Tridiagonal Solutions. Featured as the gold partners of the event are: GPC, Ingenero, Durr, Evonik, Rieco, Premier Tech, and Agilent Technologies. Among the associate partners are Meghmani Finechem, Huntsman, Solvay, Aarti Industries, Sajjan India, Godavari Biorefineries, and Carbanio. The industry partners of the event include AMAI, PMFAI, and CCFI.
