Plenitude begins construction of 200 MW solar park in Spain

Once operational, the plant is expected to generate over 435 GWh of renewable energy annually

Plenitude continues to strengthen its renewables business in Spain with the start of construction of Entrenúcleos, a 200 MW photovoltaic project located between the municipalities of Dos Hermanas and Coria del Río, in the province of Seville (Andalusia).  The solar park will feature approximately 326,000 solar panels and span over 300 hectares.

Scheduled to become operational in 2026, Entrenúcleos will comprise four plants—Granville, Killington, Plumlee, and Rickwood—each with an installed capacity of 50 MWp. Together, they are expected to generate over 435 GWh of renewable energy annually. The energy produced will be connected to the national grid through the Entrenúcleos SET substation, shared with another developer and linked via Red Eléctrica Española’s substation in Dos Hermanas.

"Entrenúcleos is a landmark project for Plenitude—not only because it contributes to our growth objectives in Spain, but also because it reflects our deep and ongoing commitment to Andalusia, a region that plays a key role in the country’s renewable energy landscape,” said Mariangiola Mollicone, Head of Renewables in Western Europe and Managing Director of Plenitude Renewables Spain. “With this project, we now have a portfolio of around 580 MW under construction in the region.”

Manuel Larrasa, General Secretary for Energy at the Regional Ministry for Industry, Energy and Mining, added: “Renewables are the oil Andalusia never had. With abundant natural resources, we are uniquely positioned to lead Europe’s energy transition.”

Francisco Rodríguez, Mayor of Dos Hermanas, stated: “This investment will significantly support local economic development and job creation, reaffirming Dos Hermanas as a hub for sustainable industrial growth.”

Nationally, Plenitude operates approximately 1,300 MW of installed capacity across solar and wind projects, with a presence in Extremadura, Galicia, La Rioja, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, and Castilla y León. The company is actively developing a pipeline exceeding 2 GW across various stages in Spain.
