In H1 27, the company has achieved a turnover of Rs 13,488 crore higher by 19%, EBIDTA of Rs 1173 crore
Paradeep Phosphates Limited reported a 7.16% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated revenue from operations, reaching Rs. 7,364.06 crore in Q2 FY27 compared to Rs. 6,872.20 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. Top-line growth was sustained by healthy volumes and robust product demand across its phosphatic fertilizer grades, even amidst subdued monsoon conditions across the country.
However, absolute profitability faced severe headwinds during the quarter. Consolidated profit after tax (PAT) dropped 64.61% YoY to Rs. 121.01 crore, down from Rs. 341.94 crore in Q2 FY26. Operating performance mirrored this contraction, with EBITDA decreasing 37.04% YoY to Rs. 413.45 crore, leaving EBITDA margins at 5.85% against 9.56% a year ago. Profitability was heavily impacted by rising input costs, macro volatility around global sulphur pricing, and a Rs. 59.98 crore inventory write-down.
On a half-yearly basis, the picture remained more resilient. In H1 27, the company has achieved a turnover of Rs 13,488 crore higher by 19%, EBIDTA of Rs 1173 crore. Despite the global uncertainty, particularly sulphur pricing/availability and impact of the Rabi notification is yet to be factored in, the company delivered the EBITDA per tonne to Rs. 5,866, up from Rs. 5,719 in H1 FY26.
In terms of capacity expansion, Phase 1 of the company’s phosphoric acid project at Paradeep—aiming to scale capacity from 500,000 MTPA to 700,000 MTPA—is on track after successfully completing its environmental public hearing.
The energy efficiency improvement project at Goa has been completed and the energy consumption has been optimized by 0.3 GCcal/MT of Urea.
