BASF Coatings’ Surface Treatment global business unit, operating under the Chemetall brand, has once again secured top-tier recognition from Airbus, earning “Accredited Supplier” status under the company’s Supply Chain & Quality Improvement Program (SQIP).
The latest award marks the eleventh consecutive year Chemetall has achieved this distinction—underscoring a sustained record of high performance in product quality, on-time delivery, and the ability to scale with rising production demands.
The recognition was presented at Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, where Airbus Procurement and Supply Chain & Quality Management (SCQM) teams acknowledged the continued contributions of Chemetall employees across production, laboratory, quality, supply chain, and customer service functions.
“Achieving Airbus SQIP accreditation for the eleventh consecutive year is a strong recognition of the consistent performance and commitment of our teams worldwide.
"Aerospace is a strategically important market for Chemetall, and being recognized by Airbus again carries particular weight given the demanding requirements in quality, delivery and reliability,” says Frank Naber, Senior Vice President Global Surface Treatment at BASF Coatings.
Beyond the SQIP accreditation, Chemetall also received a special award highlighting its de-risking initiatives aimed at strengthening supply continuity for Airbus operations.
“This recognition of our de-risking initiatives reflects our proactive approach to securing supply and supporting Airbus’ production needs,” says Guillaume Larrieu, Global Key Account Manager Airbus at Chemetall.
Airbus’ SQIP program is designed to drive industrial excellence across its strategic supplier base, with strict annual evaluations focusing on quality performance and delivery reliability. Suppliers are either revalidated or reassessed each year based on compliance with Airbus’ standards.
