Cosmo First reported a strong start to FY27, posting double-digit growth in revenue and earnings for the quarter ended June 2026, driven by higher film sales, stronger margins, improved performance in its US operations and robust growth across its specialty chemicals, rigid packaging and consumer businesses.

The company reported consolidated net revenue of Rs 1,166 crore in the first quarter of FY27, up from Rs 800 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

EBITDA rose to Rs 147 crore from Rs 116 crore, while profit before tax increased to Rs 71 crore from Rs 54 crore. Net profit climbed to Rs 54 crore, compared with Rs 43 crore a year earlier, with earnings per share improving to Rs 20.7 from Rs 16.6.

The improved quarterly performance was supported by a 9% increase in sales volumes, better margins in the base BOPP and BOPET films business, stronger performance from the US film business following lower US tariffs, and improved contributions from its specialty chemicals and rigid packaging businesses.

The company's specialty chemicals subsidiary continued its strong growth trajectory, delivering 34% year-on-year revenue growth and an EBITDA margin of 25% during the quarter.

Its rigid packaging business, Cosmo Plastech, posted more than 58% year-on-year revenue growth and turned EBIT positive during the quarter.

The company said its focus for FY27 will be on improving profitability through higher capacity utilisation, a better sales mix and operational efficiencies. It also plans to increase capacity by 50% over the next two quarters through minimal capital expenditure to support future growth and enhance economies of scale.

Among its newer consumer-focused businesses, Zigly, the company's pet care venture, recorded 70% year-on-year growth, while Cosmo Consumer—which includes window films, paint protection films and ceramic coatings—continued to expand rapidly after its first full year of operations in FY26.

Cosmo First expects overall revenue to grow around 20% during FY27, while its four new businesses are projected to deliver approximately 60% growth.

The company said net debt remained unchanged at Rs 1,166 crore at the end of June 2026.
