Petronet LNG forays into green energy and bio fuels segment

Company has signed an MoU with MoPNG for setting up of Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plants under Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) initiative of the Government of India

Petronet LNG Limited has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas to foray into green energy and biofuels.

 

The MoU was signed in the presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister Petroleum & Natural Gas & Steel, Government of lndia on 20th November 2020 with the objective to foray in to green energy and biofuels for setting up of Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) Plants under Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) initiative of the Government of India.

 

Petronet LNG Limited is one of the fastest growing world-class public limited company in the Indian energy sector. It has set up the country's first LNG receiving and regasification terminal at Dahej, Gujarat with present nominal capacity of 17.5 MMTPA and another terminal at Kochi, Kerala having a nominal capacity of 5 MMTPA. The company is also exploring suitable opportunities within and outside India to expand its business presence.

 

Torrent Gas, Adani Gas and JBM Group also signed a similar MoU for developing green energy and biofuels based projects.
