Raizen commences operation of world’s largest E2G plant

With a total investment of R$1.2 billion it is the largest cellulosic ethanol plant in the world

Raízen S.A. (Raízen) in line with its strategy of providing advanced solutions to contribute to a low carbon economy informs its shareholders and the market in general that it has started operations of the new second generation ethanol plant (E2G) at the Bonfim Bioenergy Park, in the city of Guariba (SP).

With a total investment of R$1.2 billion it is the largest cellulosic ethanol plant in the world, with a contracted commercialization level of 80% of its nominal production capacity of 82 thousand cubic meters (82 million liters) annually. Consequently, Raízen establishes itself as the largest global producer and the only one operating 2 E2G plants on an industrial scale (Bonfim and Costa Pinto, both in the State of São Paulo), totaling a nominal capacity of 114 thousand cubic meters (114 million liters).

Raízen enhance its vocation to developing and expanding the ethanol market with profitable low-carbon solutions, while also strengthening its leadership role in the face of global energy transition challenges.
