Saint-Gobain deepens Latin America push with Peru acquisition & Brazil plasterboard expansion
The deal strengthens Saint-Gobain’s position in key Peruvian markets

SAINT-GOBAIN is stepping up its expansion across Latin America, strengthening its construction chemicals business in Peru while adding major plasterboard capacity in Brazil.
The French building materials giant has completed the acquisition of QSI Productos para la Construcción in Peru, bolstering a construction chemicals platform that already includes Soquimic, acquired in 2025, as well as established brands Weber and Z Aditivos.
The deal strengthens Saint-Gobain’s position in key Peruvian markets, particularly infrastructure and mining, as the Group seeks to capture growth across the region’s construction value chain.
In Brazil, meanwhile, Saint-Gobain is investing in a fourth plasterboard production line at its plant in the State of Bahia. The project follows the opening of a third production line at the site in 2024.
Once completed, the Bahia facility will host the largest plasterboard production line in South America, significantly increasing Saint-Gobain’s capacity as demand for light construction solutions grows across the region.
The company said the two moves reinforce its role as a strategic partner in Latin America’s construction sector and align with its Lead & Grow plan.
The latest investments underscore Saint-Gobain’s strategy of combining acquisitions with targeted capacity expansion to strengthen its position in markets where infrastructure development and the shift toward lighter, more sustainable construction are accelerating.
