I-SAFE includes carefully designed components that work closely with farmers to achieve zero exposure

Syngenta India has launched the 8th edition of ‘I SAFE’ in Yavatmal, Maharashtra.

Sanjay Rathod, Minister of Soil and Water Conservation, Govt of Maharashtra, and Guardian Minister of Yavatmal and Washim Districts, along with Dr. Pankaj Aashiya, District Collector of Yavatmal, flagged off the awareness campaign on safe and responsible use of agrochemicals before the crucial Kharif season.

The mobile van will spread awareness on the Do's and Don'ts of spraying activities, including knowledge on good agricultural practices and the importance of health and hygiene among farming communities and their families.

Launched in 2019, this first-of-its-kind program Certified Spray Men (CSM) undergo one-day training covering safety protocols, health & hygiene, followed by a live demonstration. Continuing our mission, we plan to empower another 1,000 youth as Certified Spray Men this season.

I-SAFE includes carefully designed components that work closely with farmers to achieve zero exposure. Over 150,000 growers have been trained in health, hygiene & safety since the program's launch under the Farmers’ Training component. These sessions, lasting 3-4 hours, are conducted in selected villages on the recommendation of Agriculture Department, helping farmers and their families understand health, personal hygiene, farm safety, and safe use practices.

At the I-SAFE 8th edition launch, 200 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits were distributed to progressive farmers who have adopted good agricultural practices. A special feature of the event was the felicitation of 50 women farmers for adopting progressive practices in growing crops like soybean, red gram, and cotton.
