Tatva Chintan Q1 FY27 profit soars 140% to Rs. 15.98 crore as specialty chemical demand rebounds

Specialty chemical maker Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem Limited has delivered a powerful start to fiscal year 2026-27.
 
The company has reported a 140.3% year-on-year surge in consolidated net profit for the first quarter, backed by a strong recovery in volumes and improved operational performance.
 
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs. 15.98 crore, compared with Rs. 6.65 crore in Q1 FY26. On a sequential basis, profit jumped 54.8% from Rs. 10.32 crore recorded in Q4 FY26.
 
Tatva Chintan’s revenue from operations climbed sharply by 42.9% year-on-year to Rs. 167.06 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs. 116.86 crore in the same period last year.
 
The growth was supported by a recovery across key business areas, including specialty chemicals, structure-directing agents (SDAs), and green pharmaceutical intermediates.
 
Including other income of Rs. 2.78 crore, total consolidated income rose to Rs. 169.84 crore, compared with Rs. 118.02 crore in Q1 FY26.
 
Total expenses during the quarter increased to Rs. 147.41 crore, compared with Rs. 108.92 crore in the year-ago period, reflecting higher production activity and order fulfillment.
 
Raw material consumption rose to Rs. 105.41 crore from Rs. 63.89 crore in Q1 FY26, in line with increased manufacturing requirements.
 
The company also recorded inventory adjustments of Rs. 31.52 crore, reflecting higher inventory levels linked to stronger production runs and finished goods requirements.
 
Despite a one-time exceptional expense of Rs. 1.32 crore, Tatva Chintan recorded a strong profit before tax (PBT) of Rs. 21.11 crore, marking a 132% jump from Rs. 9.10 crore in Q1 FY26.
