NTPC awards 600 MW alkaline electrolyzers deal to Hild Electric

Hild Electric, a leading manufacturer and deployer of electrolysers, has been chosen by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (REL) as the technology provider for alkaline electrolyser solutions.

NTPC, the country’s largest power utility with an impressive 73 GW installed generation capacity, has opted for Hild Electric to advance its renewable energy subsidiary’s ambitions.

Headquartered in Chennai, Hild Electric will leverage its expertise in stack deployment, along with purifiers and separators, to deliver a dynamic and efficient alkaline electrolyser system. This cutting-edge solution seamlessly integrates with renewable energy resources and facilitates the production of eco-friendly hydrogen.

The partnership between Hild Electric and NTPC REL entails deploying the alkaline electrolyser technology across various industrial applications, including ammonia production, transportation, and power generation. This collaborative effort aims to support NTPC’s green hydrogen initiative, which strives to achieve a minimum of 150 kTPA (kilotons per annum) of green hydrogen production by 2032.

Acknowledging the significance of this milestone, Hild Electric expressed its enthusiasm, stating, “Being selected as NTPC REL’s preferred technology provider for the largest Alkaline electrolyser project in India is a remarkable breakthrough.” The company further applauded NTPC’s forward-thinking approach, recognizing its pioneering adoption of innovative clean technologies within the industry.
