Former Biofuels head of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Milind S. Patke has joined GPS Renewables as President, Biofuels.  

Patke has joined GPS Renewables at a pivotal time for both India's and GPS’ ethanol journey. The Indian ethanol market is projected to grow from US $3 billion in 2019 to US $7.38 billion by 2024. GPS, under the vision and guidance of Milind, the company hopes to play a monumental role in India’s Ethanol story.

GPS Renewables is a Bangalore based Cleantech firm founded by IIMB graduates Mainak Chakraborty and Sreekrishna Sankar. The company currently focuses on bio-methanation technologies to solve the organic waste management challenge, accelerate substitution of fossil fuel with bio-energy and play a key role in mitigating climate change.

It’s core products - BioUrja, a modular biogas plant and BiogasBot, a proprietary AI solution for remote predictive bioprocess management. The company has close to 100 BioUrja installations across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka with Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Intel, Bosch, Cummins, Saint Gobain, Reliance, JW Marriott Group, and TATAs. These BioUrjas help GPS’ clients convert organic waste into clean energy for captive usage, significantly reducing their carbon footprint.

He brings an experience of over 37 years in Biofuels, Lubricants, Branding, and Marketing as well as in developing renewable sector strategy with his country wide leadership. He was the Executive Director for BioFuels at BPCL and spearheaded the Biofuels initiative in the Indian Oil & Gas segment.

Patke has experience in B2B, B2C channels, supply chain management, customer centricity, and corporate brand building with a strong technical foundation. Negotiated M&A deals in international markets as part of upstream business and has the passion to create value through innovation and focused execution.

He spearheaded the Biofuels initiative with proven success in value creation based on financial as well as sustainability parameters. He led various initiatives for large scale integration across state and central government bodies.
