IMCD appoints Dongjoon Lee as MD, South Korea

Dongjoon will ensure continuity in leadership by building on the foundation and driving strategic growth ambitions

IMCD, a global leading distribution partner, formulator of speciality chemicals and ingredients, has appointed Dongjoon Lee as Managing Director for IMCD in South Korea, effective October 1st, 2024.

Dongjoon joined IMCD as Business Development Director in November 2020. Over the last few years, he played a vital role in diversifying the South Korean business with the launch of IMCD’s Beauty & Personal Care, Coatings & Construction, Advanced Materials, and Food & Nutrition business units.

In his new role, Dongjoon will ensure continuity in leadership by building on the foundation and driving strategic growth ambitions. He will focus on expanding new and existing suppliers, executing commercial excellence, exploring opportunities for M&As, developing talents, and further advancing the business's digitalisation.

Dongjoon is based in the IMCD office in Seoul and will report to Andreas Igerl, APAC President and Member of IMCD Group’s Executive Committee.

Dongjoon has grown his career for over 17 years in various business development and sales roles in the personal care and food & beverage business unit within DKSH South Korea. Before DKSH, Dongjoon worked for KOHAP, a petrochemical producer that was subsequently merged with BASF, and was responsible for the research and development of polymer condensation and engineering plastic. He graduated with a master’s degree in fine chemistry from Hanyang University, South Korea.
