Upon the conclusion of today’s Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2024, Dr. Markus Kamieth becomes the new Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE. At the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting at the Rosengarten Congress Center in Mannheim, Germany, outgoing Chairman Dr. Martin Brudermüller presented his successor with a cycling jersey printed with the BASF logo.

Kamieth obtained his doctorate in organic chemistry at the University of Essen in 1998 and started his career at the company one year later. He has been a member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE since 2017.

Brudermüller worked at BASF for 36 years. He was appointed to the Board of Executive Directors in 2006 and became Chairman in 2018. “It was my passion for chemistry that brought me to BASF in 1988. And that has turned into enthusiasm for BASF. My 36 years at BASF have been exciting, moving and challenging at the same time. I was privileged to work with great people. A great team that I could always rely on. A team that puts its heart and soul into its work, stands together and always looks ahead,” Dr. Brudermüller said in his LinkedIn post.
