The Board of Directors of Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has approved appointment of Rajesh D. Patel as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from November 1, 2021 upon superannuation  of current CFO Sunil M. Ranade.

Rajesh Patel joined MGL in April 2009 is currently Vice President (Finance) of the company. At MGL he is currently Head of Financial Reporting and Treasury and manages finance, accounting, costing, budgeting and financial information for strategic decisions by the Management.

Patel is Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (FCA), Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of United Kingdom (ACMA, CGMA) and Graduate member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai.

Prior to joining MGL he was General Manager Finance with Adani Infrastructure and Developers Private Limited. He has over 27 years of experience in the areas of finance, accounting, costing, management information systems, taxation and internal audit. He has also worked with Crompton Greaves Limited, Philips India Limited and Adlabs Films Limited. Apart from this he has taught at St. Xavier’s College (Commerce Section) Mumbai.
