Arkema has secured 3,000 m³ of new tank storage capacity for Glacial Acrylic Acid (GAA) at the Ulsan HDOT terminal in South Korea, in a move aimed at strengthening its local supply capabilities and supporting rising demand for acrylic-based applications across Asia.
The new facility will serve as a local storage hub for Arkema’s GAA business in Korea, allowing the company to maintain domestic inventory and provide Korean customers with more differentiated and reliable supplies.
The investment also forms part of Arkema’s broader strategy to expand its GAA business across Northeast Asia. By adding a local storage node to its regional supply network, the company said it will strengthen the link between supply, logistics and market operations, creating a more integrated regional setup.

Arkema is a major global producer of acrylic monomers, with its Taixing production site in China supporting acrylic operations across Asia, including China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.
The company said the new Korean storage capacity will complement its regional production and logistics infrastructure as it works to strengthen supply resilience and respond to customer demand.
Alongside its regional expansion, Arkema is advancing sustainability initiatives across its acrylic value chain. These include ISCC+ Mass Balance certification across all of its acrylic monomer production sites worldwide, supporting customers seeking lower-carbon and more circular material solutions.
The investment comes as Arkema continues to expand its portfolio of specialty materials and technologies targeting applications linked to new energy, water access, recycling, urbanization and mobility.
