The chemical logistics industry is highly complex and interconnected, making it vulnerable to various risks and disruptions. Supply chain resilience is critical to the chemical logistics industry to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient supply chain operations while mitigating risks and disruptions. Some of the key factors for managing risk and disruptions in chemical logistics include supply chain visibility, business continuity planning, risk assessment and management, technology and collaboration, and communication.

It is known that the real-time visibility of the entire supply chain, from suppliers to customers, enables companies to identify potential disruptions at an early stage and take corrective measures to minimize the impact of disruptions. Moreover, companies need to have a well-defined business continuity plan that can provide a framework for managing disruptions and restoring operations quickly.

There is also a need to conduct risk assessments to identify potential risks, developing risk management strategies, and regularly reviewing and updating those strategies in order to manage risks. And, these can be achieved by building strong relationships and open communication channels with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.

Most importantly, advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Blockchain can provide real-time insights into the supply chain and enable companies to quickly respond to disruptions.

The session will discuss industry's ability to anticipate, prepare for, and recover from risks and disruptions while ensuring continuity of operations, minimizing losses, and meeting customer demands.

Topics to be covered in the session include: Risk identification, impact assessment, and regulatory compliance; Supply chain mapping to identify risks to minimize damages; Collaboration: Developing partnerships with suppliers, transporters, and other stakeholders; Disaster preparedness plan; Digitalization and automation of chemical logistics; Establishing a backup plan; Competitive buffer inventory; Regular compliance checks; Mitigation strategies; and Periodic review of logistics and supply chain processes.

The event is supported by Platinum Partner - Netradyne; Gold Partners - Zodiac, J M Baxi and Somaiya Vidyavihar University and Associate Partner - Moglix.
