Celanese Corporation, a global specialty materials and chemical company, announced it has received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ENERGY STAR Award 2024 Partner of the Year designation for the ninth consecutive year and the Sustained Excellence designation, the highest honor of the ENERGY STAR Awards, for the seventh consecutive year.

The Energy Star Partner of the Year award is bestowed upon organizations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievements in energy efficiency, sustainability, and environmental protection. This recognition underscores our dedication to environmental stewardship and innovation in energy management.

Celanese energy management systems (EMS) initiatives continue to drive our overall decarbonization journey to achieve our 30% greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity and 10% net energy intensity reduction targets by 2030. Initiatives in 2023 included significant progress on energy and environmental sustainability data integrity and reporting standards, as well as the development and execution of major and small capital projects impacting energy and GHG emissions.

"We are proud to receive the Energy Star Partner of the Year award for the ninth consecutive year," said Russ Stephens, Director Environmental Manufacturing. "This achievement demonstrates the hard work and dedication of our employees, who are committed to driving positive change and improving the world."
