Epsilon Carbon cuts logistics emissions by 10% through electric and LNG freight fleet

The emission reductions have been independently certified by a third party and are equivalent to the carbon absorption potential of approximately 29,000 trees

Epsilon Carbon, a leading global producer of carbon black and specialty carbon products, has achieved a 10% reduction in Carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) emissions from its upstream transportation operations during FY 2025–26.

This, powered by the deployment of a combined electric and LNG-powered freight fleet.

The emission reductions have been independently certified by a third party and are equivalent to the carbon absorption potential of approximately 29,000 trees, marking a significant step in the company’s efforts to lower the environmental impact of its logistics network.

The certified reductions generated through Epsilon Carbon’s lower-emission transportation operations also create value for supply chain partners. Under recognized ESG reporting frameworks, these reductions can support partners’ Scope 3 emissions reporting and sustainability disclosures, where applicable, strengthening the company’s role as a sustainability partner in advancing value chain decarbonisation.

Commenting on the achievement, Gaurav Mathur, Chief Executive Officer, Epsilon Carbon, said: “Decarbonising logistics is central to our climate strategy. What makes this milestone meaningful is that the results are independently verified with a 10% reduction in CO₂e emissions within the upstream transportation category over a single financial year, driven by the adoption of Electric and LNG fleets.

"These carbon reductions strengthen our own sustainability disclosures and those of our customers, and we intend to scale this model across our supply chain.”

Following the success of Phase 1, Epsilon Carbon plans to expand its LNG and electric freight fleet in FY 2026–27. With independently certified carbon emission reductions now recorded, the company is positioning itself among the few players in India’s carbon industry operating a diversified and verified low-carbon freight model.
