The three-year strategic partnership will help boost the company’s growth and reinforce its innovation commitments towards circular economy
Syensqo and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation have signed a Strategic Partner agreement for three years, focusing on advancing the circularity and sustainability agenda within the chemical sector. The partnership underscores Syensqo’s commitment to actively contribute to the transformation of value chains to circular business models.
As a continuation of the existing partnership with Solvay before the spin-off of Syensqo in December 2023, this renewed partnership will enable the Foundation network to continue relying on Syensqo’s input and expertise while also supporting its efforts to find new solutions to eliminate waste, make products and materials circular, and regenerate nature.
"Currently, over 80% of Syensqo’s innovation pipeline is dedicated to crafting sustainable solutions, and we aim to enhance the adoption of circular practices by committing to increase circular sales by 18% by 2030," said Ilham Kadri, CEO of Syensqo.
"Chemistry is a potent catalyst for material transformation, and in our capacity as a worldwide manufacturer and provider of advanced materials and specialty chemicals, Syensqo plays a pivotal role in this system. It is only through chemistry that we can achieve the reuse of products while maintaining their quality and value. Our sustainability commitments are therefore centered on the three areas where we believe we can have the greatest positive impact: Climate and Nature, Sustainable Growth, and Better Life.”
Andrew Morlet, CEO of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation said: "We are delighted to renew our Strategic Partnership with Syensqo and welcome its strong commitment to developing circular solutions in ways which can benefit the environment, society and the economy. Chemicals are part of every industry’s value chain, therefore we see this as an exciting opportunity to help transform a sector which has a pivotal role to play in the transition to a circular future.”
