L&T Technology Services has launched its first Engineering Intelligence Center of Excellence (EI CoE) in Europe, marking a major expansion of its AI-led engineering strategy and strengthening its footprint in one of the world’s most advanced industrial hubs.
Located in Munich, the new center is designed to embed artificial intelligence across the engineering lifecycle—enabling intelligent products, autonomous operations, and next-generation manufacturing systems. It represents a key milestone in LTTS’ Engineering Intelligence (EI) approach, which combines deep engineering expertise with advanced technologies to drive real-world industrial transformation.
The CoE will focus on applied AI solutions across mobility, industrial products, sustainability, and technology sectors. It will accelerate development in areas such as software-defined products, predictive operations, connected engineering ecosystems, and intelligent manufacturing tailored to Europe’s evolving industrial priorities.
LTTS is integrating a wide range of frontier technologies at the center, including GenAI, Agentic AI, multimodal AI, Physical AI, and edge intelligence. The company says its goal is to move clients beyond AI experimentation toward scalable industrial deployment. Reinforcing its momentum in innovation, LTTS has filed more than 237 AI and GenAI patents in FY26.
The Munich EI CoE will act as a collaborative hub for clients, partners, and academia across Europe, supporting faster, outcome-driven innovation and deeper ecosystem engagement. It comes as LTTS continues to expand its regional presence, now serving over 60 clients in Europe with a workforce of more than 4,500 engineers.
The inauguration brought together leaders from industry, government, academia, and the Indo-German business community, highlighting strong cross-sector collaboration around advanced engineering and AI.
Commenting on the launch, Amit Chadha, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, L&T Technology Services, said, “LTTS’ first EI Center of Excellence in our Munich design center is a milestone as it brings our deep-tech and EI-based solutions closer to the clients’ R&D hubs across the region. The center will act as a focal point for innovation, R&D and new product development, redefining how products, platforms and manufacturing are engineered and optimized in the AI era.”
The company positions the new center as a strategic step toward redefining industrial engineering through AI, strengthening its role in shaping the future of intelligent manufacturing and digital product development across Europe.
