Technip Energies unveils SnapLNG 1.5 to accelerate LNG project delivery

The solution is built around a 1.5 million-tonne-per-annum (MTPA) LNG train

Technip Energies has launched SnapLNG 1.5, a standardized, fully modular and electrified LNG solution developed in collaboration with Honeywell Technologies and Siemens Energy, as the industry faces mounting pressure to bring new LNG capacity online faster and with greater execution certainty.
 
The solution is built around a 1.5 million-tonne-per-annum (MTPA) LNG train and is designed to simplify project execution, shorten development timelines and reduce operational emissions.
 
The launch comes as global LNG demand is projected to expand significantly over the next decade. More than 200 MTPA of new LNG capacity could be required by 2035, presenting a major opportunity for developers while intensifying the need for faster, more predictable and lower-complexity project delivery.
 
The United States is expected to contribute approximately 50% of global LNG market growth, further increasing demand for solutions capable of accelerating capacity additions while improving reliability and supporting lower-carbon operations.
 
SnapLNG 1.5 is positioned to meet that challenge through a standardized and replicable design aimed at the growing small-to-mid-scale LNG market.
 
Commercialized by Technip Energies, the solution brings together the company's LNG project execution expertise, modularization capabilities and digital project delivery approach with Honeywell Technologies’ gas pretreatment, liquefaction and automation technologies and Siemens Energy's electrified turbomachinery and compression solutions.
 
At the heart of the offering is a standardized 1.5 MTPA train that can be replicated across larger LNG developments. Extensive offsite fabrication, combined with electric motor-driven liquefaction technology, is expected to reduce development complexity and cut project schedules by up to two years, while also enhancing operational performance.

Honeywell Technologies brings decades of operating experience to the collaboration, including pretreatment technologies used to process approximately 40% of the world’s LNG.

The collaboration will take center stage at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, where Technip Energies, Honeywell Technologies and Siemens Energy will officially mark the partnership with a signing ceremony at the Technip Energies booth.
