WABAG order book hits record Rs. 194 billion as Q1 profit jumps 37%

The company secured Rs. 34 billion in new orders during the quarter

VA TECH WABAG LIMITED has started FY 2026-27 on a strong footing, with its order book surging to an all-time high of approximately Rs. 194 billion and consolidated profit after tax (PAT) jumping 37% year-on-year to Rs. 901 million in the first quarter.
 
The water technology major reported consolidated revenue of Rs. 8,868 million, up 21% YoY, while consolidated EBITDA rose 22% to Rs. 1,163 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
 
The company secured Rs. 34 billion in new orders during the quarter, taking its order book to approximately Rs. 194 billion, excluding framework contracts and providing strong revenue visibility.
 
WABAG also maintained its strong balance sheet, with a gross cash position of Rs. 10,823 million and net cash of Rs. 9,649 million, excluding HAM. The company remained net cash positive for the 14th consecutive quarter.
 
On a standalone basis, revenue rose 15% YoY to Rs. 7,393 million, while EBITDA increased 22% to Rs. 1,050 million. Standalone PAT climbed 30% to Rs. 793 million.
 
International expansion and a strong pipeline of technology-led projects drove the quarter's order momentum. WABAG entered Kuwait with the award of a mega seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) project and expanded into the UAE with an order in Ajman. In India, the company won new orders from BWSSB and DJB, while in Europe it secured a project from Donauinsel Water Works in Austria.

All clusters delivered on order intake which resulted in our order book surging to approximately INR 19,400 crore, even as we persisted with our selective approach to bidding for projects.

In India, we enhanced our long-standing relationships with BWSSB and DJB, through new order wins. In Europe, we secured a key project win in Austria from Donauinsel Water Works. These wins provide us with strong revenue visibility and reflect our focus on complex technology jobs which fall in our focus area and enable us to deliver value addition to our clients.”
