Worley lands major EPC contract for Pembina’s $energy project in Alberta

Australian engineering giant Worley has secured a major engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction (EPFC) contract from Pembina Infrastructure and Logistics LP for the development of the Heartland Extraction Plant in Alberta, Canada.
The contract will see Worley deliver the construction-led project through an integrated EPFC team based across its Alberta operations, strengthening its role as a key delivery partner for large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
Located in Strathcona County, the Heartland Extraction Plant is designed to process up to 21.2 million standard cubic metres of natural gas per day. The facility will extract natural gas liquids from the Yellowhead Pipeline and is expected to begin operations in late 2029.
Worley Chief Executive Officer Chris Ashton said the contract reflected the company’s growing capabilities in integrated gas project delivery and its strong partnership with Pembina.
