The project aims to produce one million tons of green ammonia annually
The State Government of Andhra Pradesh has granted approval to YamnaCo—through its subsidiary, YamnaCo India Private Limited—to proceed with the initial phase of its massive green ammonia project.
The project aims to produce one million tons of green ammonia annually (1 MTPA) across two phases. The Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet has approved the first phase, which targets 0.5 MTPA with a USD 1 billion investment. To support this export-focused clean energy initiative, the government has allocated land in the Chillakur and Kota Mondals of Tirupati District, conveniently located near Krishnapatnam Port.
The project will also be eligible for incentives and support under the State’s Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy, including capital subsidies, tax incentives, and grid connectivity support. The approval marks a significant milestone in Yamna’s expanding global green ammonia platform and reinforces the company’s commitment to accelerating the energy transition through scalable hydrogen derivatives projects.
“The approval of the Andhra Pradesh green ammonia project represents an important step for Yamna to build a globally diversified portfolio of clean energy assets. We appreciate the support extended by the State Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister of AP, Sri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, and his vision to transform the State into a Green Hydrogen Valley. We look forward to advancing the project into the next development phase,” said Abdelaziz Yatribi, CEO, Yamna.
The project now enters the detailed development and implementation stage and further strengthens Yamna’s pipeline of green molecules initiatives across strategic international markets.
