Huntsman posts $1.66 billion in Q2 revenue on higher volumes and pricing

Huntsman’s polyurethanes segment recorded higher revenue in the second quarter compared with the prior-year period

  • By ICN Bureau | August 03, 2026
Huntsman Corporation reported second-quarter 2026 revenues of $1.66 billion, with results showing stronger demand across its businesses as higher sales volumes and pricing actions helped offset rising raw material costs.

The company reported a net loss attributable to Huntsman of $6 million, adjusted net income attributable to Huntsman of nil, and adjusted EBITDA of $120 million for the quarter.

Chairman, President, and CEO Peter R. Huntsman said the company benefited from improved industrial demand and growth across all three business segments, while warning that elevated energy and crude oil-related costs — particularly in Europe — continue to pressure margins.

"We delivered a solid quarter, supported by higher volumes across all three segments and pricing actions that offset a significant increase in raw material costs. Improved industrial demand helped counter continued softness in construction. Rising and volatile energy and crude oil related costs, particularly in Europe, remain a headwind, and we will stay focused on additional price increases and cost-reduction initiatives to help offset these pressures.

"Our planned merger of equals with Olin Corporation continues to progress at pace. The strong collaboration between our teams reinforces my confidence in our ability to deliver the synergy targets we have outlined. We also expect the combined company to benefit from vertical integration, greater scale, and a stronger financial profile, creating meaningful value for shareholders of both companies. The stockholder vote is scheduled for August 25, 2026, and we are excited about the future of OlinHuntsman."

Huntsman’s Polyurethanes segment recorded higher revenue in the second quarter compared with the prior-year period, supported by stronger average selling prices and increased sales volumes.

MDI pricing improved across all three regions amid better supply-demand conditions, while sales volumes rose in the Americas and Europe. Segment adjusted EBITDA increased due to stronger pricing, higher volumes, improved equity earnings from the company’s minority-owned joint venture in China, and cost savings from optimization efforts. These gains were partially offset by higher raw material expenses.

The Performance Products segment also posted revenue growth, driven mainly by higher sales volumes and modest pricing improvements.

Demand in the performance amines business supported volume gains, while pricing benefited from increased raw material costs. Adjusted EBITDA improved as higher sales volumes and lower fixed costs from the company’s cost optimization program strengthened results.

Advanced Materials revenue increased on the back of higher selling prices and stronger sales volumes.

The segment benefited from favorable sales mix, foreign currency impacts against the U.S. dollar, and stronger demand in aerospace, power, and automotive markets. Higher margins and increased volumes lifted adjusted EBITDA for the quarter.

Huntsman reported free cash flow use of $90 million during the second quarter of 2026, compared with a $55 million source of cash in the same period a year earlier.

As of June 30, 2026, the company held approximately $900 million in combined cash and available borrowing capacity.

Capital spending totaled $30 million in the quarter, down from $37 million in the second quarter of 2025. Huntsman expects full-year 2026 capital expenditures to be approximately $170 million.

The company said its planned merger with Olin Corporation remains on track, with the shareholder vote scheduled for August 25, 2026. Huntsman expects the combination to create a larger, more integrated company with increased scale, operational synergies, and enhanced shareholder value.
