Syngenta, a global leader in agricultural innovation, and SAP SE have announced a multi-year strategic technology partnership aimed at embedding artificial intelligence at the core of Syngenta’s operations and accelerating innovation across the company’s global business.
The collaboration will modernize Syngenta’s operations from manufacturing and supply chain management to grower-facing products and services, leveraging advanced data analytics and AI-assisted tools to drive faster, smarter decision-making.
Agriculture faces mounting challenges from climate variability, supply chain complexity, and global uncertainty. By deploying AI enterprise-wide, Syngenta aims to meet the ambitious goal of feeding a projected 10 billion people by 2050 while boosting operational resilience and scalability.
“AI is the catalyst for agricultural transformation and has quickly become a core competitive edge for Syngenta,” said Feroz Sheikh, Chief Information and Digital Officer, Syngenta Group. “Our partnership with SAP is transforming how we run the enterprise, modernizing core operations and unlocking new ways to work — a testament to our commitment to becoming an agriculture company with AI at its core.”
Philipp Herzig, Chief Technology Officer at SAP SE, added: “Syngenta’s transformation sets a benchmark for digital innovation in agriculture. Together, we’re demonstrating how cloud and AI technologies can drive sustainable growth and efficiency in one of the world’s most critical industries. This partnership will help Syngenta future-proof its operations to feed the world responsibly."
The transformation will begin with SAP Cloud ERP Private solutions, modernizing Syngenta’s core operations across the value chain to deliver agility, resilience, and scalability. Through SAP Business Data Cloud, Syngenta will create a unified, secure, and scalable data foundation essential for real-time decision-making and AI integration.
Leveraging SAP Business AI and AI-assisted tools such as the Joule copilot, Syngenta will explore smarter, faster operational decisions, accelerating innovation and improving products and services for growers worldwide—all while preserving control and privacy over proprietary information.
With this partnership, Syngenta is positioning AI not just as a tool, but as the central driver of its future growth and leadership in global agriculture.
