Both companies will work together across multiple areas to empower fleet operators and commercial vehicle users in transitioning to electric mobility
Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited and part of The Tata Power Company Limited, has entered into a strategic collaboration with VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), a leading manufacturer of electric trucks and buses. This partnership marks a significant step toward accelerating the adoption of electric commercial vehicles in India, with an immediate focus on supporting the recently launched Eicher Pro X range of small commercial vehicles.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), both companies will work together across multiple areas to empower fleet operators and commercial vehicle users in transitioning to electric mobility. Tata Power will leverage its extensive electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and deep expertise in providing tailored charging solutions. Meanwhile, VECV will bring its specialized knowledge in vehicle energy efficiency to ensure optimal performance and range for electric trucks and buses, tailored to meet the practical needs of end-users.
The partnership aims to overcome key challenges facing the EV ecosystem, including range anxiety, limited charging infrastructure, and cost barriers. Both companies will actively engage with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers to promote EV adoption and will facilitate the rollout of additional models from VECV’s growing portfolio of electric commercial vehicles.
This collaboration is poised to transform India’s commercial mobility landscape by delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective transportation solutions. It reflects a shared vision to modernize the sector and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s clean energy goals.
Tata Power, through its EZ Charge brand, has already established a robust EV charging network with over 1.5 lakh home chargers, 5,500+ public, semi-public, and fleet charging points, and more than 1,200 E-bus charging points across 630+ cities and towns. With a user base exceeding four lakh registered customers, these charging stations are strategically located at highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, residential complexes, and commercial vehicle depots. This widespread network has played a pivotal role in advancing electric mobility across the country.
