Chemplast Sanmar is stepping up its green energy push, acquiring a 27% equity stake in Yesaryes Energy Private Limited for Rs 45 lakh to secure solar power for its operations and reduce energy costs.

The investment will give Chemplast Sanmar access to environment-friendly electricity from Yesaryes Energy’s 37.5 MW solar power plant in Tamil Nadu under the Group Captive Power Plant Scheme.

The deal involves two agreements: a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Yesaryes Energy and a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) involving the seller, Veebee Yarnntex Private Limited, and Yesaryes Energy.

Under the terms, Chemplast Sanmar will acquire the 27% stake in one or more tranches for a total cash consideration of Rs 45 lakh. The transaction is expected to be completed within the applicable statutory time limits and does not require additional governmental or regulatory approvals.

The investment is aimed at meeting Chemplast Sanmar’s captive power requirements while lowering its overall energy costs. By securing solar electricity through the group captive route, the company is looking to strengthen its access to renewable energy while optimising power expenditure.

Incorporated on January 20, 2025, Yesaryes Energy Private Limited operates in the solar power generation and transmission sector. Its 37.5 MW solar plant in Tamil Nadu commenced commercial operations in April 2026.

As the company began operations only recently, turnover figures for the preceding three years are not applicable.

The transaction marks a strategic move by Chemplast Sanmar to integrate renewable power into its energy mix, combining access to solar electricity with a focus on long-term cost optimisation.
