GAIL (India) Limited reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of FY27.

The robust performance is driven by resilient natural gas transmission and liquid hydrocarbon operations despite geopolitical challenges impacting gas marketing and polymer volumes.

The company’s standalone Revenue from Operations rose to Rs. 38,982 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs. 34,797 crore in the previous quarter (Q4 FY26). EBITDA jumped sharply to Rs. 6,948 crore, up from Rs. 2,175 crore in Q4 FY26, while Profit Before Tax (PBT) climbed to Rs. 5,773 crore from Rs. 1,577 crore.

Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at Rs. 4,292 crore, compared with Rs. 1,262 crore in the previous quarter.

On a consolidated basis, GAIL recorded Revenue from Operations of Rs. 41,350 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs. 35,705 crore in Q4 FY26. Consolidated EBITDA increased to Rs. 7,573 crore, from Rs. 2,703 crore in the previous quarter. PBT rose to Rs. 6,268 crore, compared with Rs. 1,966 crore, while PAT (excluding minority interest) stood at Rs. 4,665 crore, up from Rs. 1,485 crore in Q4 FY26.

GAIL maintained its focus on long-term growth, recording capital expenditure of Rs. 6,176 crore during Q1 FY27 against an annual planned capex of around Rs. 11,500 crore.

Operational performance highlighted continued strength in GAIL’s core infrastructure businesses. Natural gas transmission volumes increased to 122.36 MMSCMD in Q1 FY27 from 118.99 MMSCMD in Q4 FY26, while liquid hydrocarbon (LHC) production rose to 232 TMT from 194 TMT.

However, gas marketing volumes declined to 93.82 MMSCMD from 101.88 MMSCMD, and polymer production fell to 51 TMT from 153 TMT during the previous quarter. LPG transmission volumes stood at 1,077 TMT, compared with 1,114 TMT in Q4 FY26.

The company said the sequential improvement in natural gas transmission and LHC production reflects the strength of its core operations, while lower gas marketing and polymer volumes were impacted by external disruptions during the quarter.

GAIL’s Q1 FY27 results underline the company’s operational resilience and continued execution of its growth strategy amid a challenging global environment.
