GE appoints former ex-Linde Chief Executive as Non-Executive Chairman of GE Vernova spinoff

Before joining Praxair, Angel spent 22 years in a variety of management positions with GE

General Electric Co. (GE) announced the board members of its energy business GE Vernova and GE Aerospace ahead of a split of the two units in the second quarter of next year.

General Electric will rename itself GE Aerospace, while GE Vernova will trade on the NYSE under the symbol GEV.

Stephen Angel, former Chief Executive and current Chairman of Linde, will be non-executive chair of GE Vernova.

Angel has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Linde since 2022. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Linde from 2018 to 2022 and as Chairman, President, and CEO of Praxair, from 2007 to 2018. Before joining Praxair, Angel spent 22 years in a variety of management positions with GE. He serves on GE’s Board of Directors as well as on the board of PPG Industries, and he is a member of The Business Council.
