Cambay Organics wants to expand Gujarat unit

Cambay Organics has sought environmental clearance for expanding its existing manufacturing unit at Sokhada in Gujarat?s Anand district.In its presentation to the Ministry of Environment and Forests, the company says that it wants to expand production activity by means of increasing production of the existing products.

The present production capacity is 69.5 MT/month and the company wants to raise it to 400 MT/month.

The products are Benzo Trichloride (175 MTPM), Benzoyl Chloride (110 MTPM), Acetyl Chloride (65 MTPM) and Chlorocetyl Chloride (50 MTPM).

The company proposes to invest Rs 2.5 crore. It said no additional land is required for the expansion purpose. The total plot area is 12,141 sq m.

It said lignite or bio-fuel at the consumption rate of 5 MTPD in boiler and 2.6 MTPD in thermic fluid heater will be used. The water requirement is 34.6 KL/day from existing borewell.

According to the company, though some hazardous processes are involved in the manufacturing, adequate precaution is being taken and will continue.

There are medical check-up facilities for all employees, the company said.
