Nouryon, a global specialty chemicals leader, has been awarded a score of A- in the global CDP Climate Change category, in recognition of the Company’s progress in implementing current best practices in sustainability targets, value chain engagement, and opportunity disclosures. The A- score places the company at the leadership level, above the chemical industry average score of B. This marks the third consecutive year Nouryon has engaged with CDP.

“We are pleased that Nouryon is being recognized for the progress we made with our Carbon Business Strategy in the year,” said Eduardo Nardinelli, Senior Vice President, South America & Global Carbon Business Leader. “Our efforts to achieve our greenhouse gas emissions targets, and to support our customers’ goals, are focused on improving efficiency in our operations, transitioning our sites to electricity from renewable sources, and collaborating with our value chain partners.”

CDP is a global non-profit that runs the world’s environmental disclosure system for companies, cities, states, and regions to manage their environmental impacts.

“Customers, suppliers, investors, and our colleagues are all paying increasing attention to sustainability in our value chain. This leadership score from CDP confirms the progress we are making to implement best practices towards our sustainability targets, engage with our value chain partners, and transparently disclose our progress,” said Vivi Hollertt, Nouryon Chief Sustainability and Communications Officer. “We continue challenging ourselves to reduce environmental impacts and mitigate risks while harnessing growth opportunities.”

Nouryon aims to reduce its absolute Scopes 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030 compared to 2019 and aspires to be a net-zero organization by 2050. The Company was recently awarded an EcoVadis Gold rating, remaining in the top 5 percent of companies then rated by EcoVadis.
