Pace Digitek has taken a major step towards strengthening India’s energy storage ecosystem, with the establishment of the Pace-Lineage Research Center in Pune through its subsidiary, Lineage Power.
The new research facility will focus on advancing next-generation battery technologies, including Advanced Chemistry Cells (ACC), Lithium-ion (Li-ion), and Sodium-ion (Na-ion) solutions, as the company looks to build domestic capabilities in critical energy storage technologies.
Aligned with the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives, the centre aims to accelerate indigenous technology development and support India’s growing demand for reliable energy storage solutions.
As part of the initiative, Lineage Power has entered into a research collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, bringing together academic expertise and industrial capabilities to advance battery materials research.
The research programme at the Pace-Lineage Research Center will focus on improving battery performance through innovations in material coatings, microstructure and porosity optimization, electrolyte design, advanced material characterization, electrochemical evaluation, and cell parameter optimization.
The facility will also assess and validate raw materials sourced from domestic suppliers, helping strengthen local supply chains and supporting the development of homegrown battery technologies.
The R&D centre marks a key milestone in Pace Digitek’s strategy to expand its engineering and research capabilities in advanced battery systems. By investing in scientific research and in-house expertise, the company aims to accelerate innovation across the energy storage value chain.
With India’s energy storage market poised for rapid growth driven by renewable energy integration, grid modernization, and rising demand for dependable storage solutions, Pace Digitek’s new facility is expected to complement its manufacturing, engineering, and project execution capabilities.
