Specialty chemicals manufacturer Aether Industries has delivered a stellar financial performance for the second quarter of FY27, reporting a 26.16% year-on-year surge in consolidated net profit to Rs. 68 crore, up from Rs. 54 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal. This robust bottom-line growth highlights the company's strong operational execution and strategic resilience in navigating global supply chain dynamics.

According to the company's regulatory filing, consolidated revenue from operations for the July–September quarter grew by 23.95% to Rs. 347.21 crore, compared to Rs. 280.10 crore recorded in Q2 FY26. This impressive performance extends Aether’s remarkable operational momentum to an eight-quarter consecutive streak of year-on-year revenue expansion. For the first half of the fiscal year (H1 FY27), the company's cumulative net profit reached Rs. 130.75 crore, setting a solid foundation for the remainder of the financial year.

At the operational level, Aether's financial health remained robust. The company recorded an Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) of Rs. 110 crore for the quarter, marking a 25% increase over the previous year. The Operating Profit Margin (OPM) stood at a highly competitive 31.8%, reflecting disciplined cost management, enhanced capacity utilization, and process efficiencies across its manufacturing facilities.

Management attributed this strong second-quarter performance to broader operational momentum, driven by a deliberate shift toward high-margin business models. The company successfully scaled up its Contract Research and Manufacturing Services (CRAMS) and Contract Manufacturing (CEM) portfolios. Concurrently, increasing volume contributions from its Large-Scale Manufacturing (LSM) model, combined with an optimized overall product mix, served as primary catalysts for growth.

A historic pivot in Aether’s market orientation occurred this quarter, as the Oil and Gas segment overtook Pharmaceuticals for the first time to become the firm's largest revenue contributor. This structural shift highlights Aether's successful diversification strategy. In Q2 FY27, the Pharmaceuticals segment slipped to second place, accounting for 26.6% of revenue, followed by Material Science at 17.9% and Agrochemicals at 7.9%. Together, these top four verticals represented 85.8% of the total revenue during the quarter, compared to 88.1% in Q2 FY26—a period when Pharmaceuticals held the top spot and Oil and Gas was positioned third. This ongoing transition underscores Aether's evolving capability to capture specialized, high-growth industrial markets globally.
