GNGC shuts Dahej TDI-II plant after leakage

The incident remained confined within the plant premises with no damage to property, and no loss of life

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals (GNFC) has shut down its TDI-II plant at Dahej, Gujarat, after a sudden leakage was detected, though the incident caused no casualties or property damage.

“We hereby inform that on September 19, 2025, a sudden leakage occurred at the TDI-II Plant, Dahej, necessitating an immediate shutdown of the plant as a precautionary measure. The safe shutdown procedures were promptly and effectively executed,” the company said.

The incident remained confined within the plant premises, with no gas release beyond the plant boundary, no damage to property, and no loss of life.

In line with the Company’s strong safety culture, the TDI-II Plant will be restarted after completion of the necessary checks and remedial measures.
