DKSH Performance Materials has expanded its footprint in Europe with the acquisition of Gale & Cosm, a leading Italian distributor of specialty chemicals for the personal care industry.

The deal significantly strengthens DKSH’s position in Italy—one of the world’s leading manufacturing hubs for decorative cosmetics—and enhances its formulation capabilities across make-up, cosmetics, haircare, and home care.

It also marks a strategic expansion of DKSH’s Life Science business in Europe with the addition of a state-of-the-art innovation center designed to develop customized formulations and foster closer collaboration with clients and customers.

Founded in 2000, Gale & Cosm supplies raw materials to the personal care industry across Italy, Europe, and Asia. Its highly complementary portfolio creates new cross-selling opportunities for DKSH, while its portfolio of proprietary brands—developed in-house by dedicated R&D chemists—adds a range of premium specialty products to the company's offering.

As part of the transaction, DKSH will acquire the entire business, welcome 11 employees, and fully integrate Gale & Cosm into its existing operations.

Alfredo Radice, Founder and Managing Director of Gale & Cosm, commented: “After more than 25 years of building Gale & Cosm into a globally active ingredients business, this transaction represents the natural next step. DKSH provides the platform and resources to continue scaling our personal care offering.”

Natale Capri, Head Business Unit Performance Materials at DKSH, said: “We are delighted to welcome Gale & Cosm to DKSH. Their deep expertise in cosmetics raw materials, innovative formulations, and global market reach will enhance our capabilities for the European personal care industry. We look forward to growing the business together across Europe and beyond.”
