Global specialty chemicals company Sika’s newest plant in Haines City is officially operational, marking a major step in the company’s expansion across Florida and the southeastern United States.
The facility boasts the highest level of digitalization and automation for an admixture plant in the US, setting a new standard for industrial efficiency.
The plant will produce Sika’s full range of high-performance admixtures, including advanced ViscoCrete and ViscoFlow formulations, designed to enhance the performance, durability, and sustainability of concrete. Beyond its technological edge, the facility will create eight new jobs in operations and logistics, supporting Polk County’s economy and workforce development.
"We are committed to providing our customers with the highest-quality solutions and excellent technical services," said Thomas Strittmatter, Executive Vice President Concrete. "The opening of our Haines City plant reinforces Sika's dedication to the concrete industry and, more importantly, to our customers throughout Florida."
The strategic investment also strengthens Sika’s supply chain, improving product availability and ensuring faster, more reliable service to Florida and surrounding markets.
Sika implemented industry-leading practices at the facility, including state-of-the-art safety and process equipment and water and wastewater reduction measures. The plant is expected to cut carbon emissions by approximately 8,000 tons by 2032, reflecting the company’s commitment to sustainable growth.
