Eurofragance & Palau de la Música Catalana unveil immersive “Essence Palau”
For the second consecutive year, fragrance MNC Eurofragance has joined forces with the Palau de la Música Catalana to present Essence Palau, a multi-sensory initiative that blends heritage, art and perfume to reinterpret one of Catalan modernism’s iconic landmarks.
The experience invites visitors to explore the architectural masterpiece of Lluís Domènech i Montaner through smell, sight and touch. Ten bespoke fragrances transform the visit into an immersive itinerary, each scent designed as an olfactory tribute to the building’s most emblematic spaces and its creative universe.
This spring’s edition introduces a new feature: an educational perfumery workshop offering participants a direct dive into the craft of fragrance creation. Small groups of up to 20 people will learn how scents are composed and how they can evoke spaces, memories and emotions.
The sessions are led by Bettina Perisson, Perfumer and Key Account Manager for Spain at Eurofragance, recently awarded the Fragrance Industry Career Award at the 2025 Barcelona Perfumery Awards.
According to Perisson: “It is a privilege for me to share my passion for the art of perfumery. In the Essence Palau workshops, participants will discover how a perfume is designed, explore raw materials and understand how fragrances can connect with our emotions and memories. My goal is for each person to live a memorable sensorial experience and take with them a new way of perceiving the world through scent.”
The programme targets both fragrance enthusiasts and curious visitors seeking a deeper, sensory interpretation of the historic venue.
The workshops form part of Be enchanted, a broader cycle of guided tours that reimagines the Palau through artistic, architectural, historical and sensory perspectives, offering alternative ways to engage with the building beyond the traditional visit.
Ten scents reimagine modernist architecture
The olfactory journey has been developed by senior perfumers Angéline Leporini and Pelegrí Granel, alongside Rebeca Cernadas, Senior Fine Fragrance Development Manager & Global Lead of Creative Initiatives at Eurofragance.
The collection includes: Barcelona 1908, with leathery notes evoking the opulence of fur coats of bygone times; Dianthus, an intense spicy carnation accord; Liliopsida, a pure lily-inspired breath; Flor Secreta, a rich rose-petal composition; Geraniales, a vibrant geranium burst with menthol and citrus facets.
The project highlights both the creative craft of perfumery and the architectural legacy of the Palau de la Música Catalana, reinforcing the collaboration’s focus on innovation, heritage and sensory storytelling.
