SIBUR and partners create an open platform for the development of process modeling

The goal is to create an open SaaS platform that provides opportunities for exchanging projects and models

SIBUR and its partners are working on creating a solution for process modeling. The solution is being developed as part of a large-scale project to create domestic software for process modeling, implemented within industrial competence centers. This was reported by SIBUR's Director of Digital and Information Technologies Alisa Melnikova at the Tadviser Summit.

The release of the first version of the platform, which includes calculation models of equipment and the necessary algorithms, is planned for 2025, and the completion of work on the basic functionality is planned for 2026. The solution is designed in such a way that project participants and new partners can independently expand the register of equipment for modeling, creating new components on the platform.

The goal is to create an open SaaS platform that provides opportunities for exchanging projects and models. This will be useful not only for industrial companies creating models for their technological processes, but also for universities, which will be able to use the platform for training and conducting scientific research. Engineering companies that use models to design new production facilities can also join the project. IT companies involved in creating models will be able to expand their customer base due to new users of the platform. This approach allows combining the efforts of many companies to solve complex production problems, while gaining the necessary freedom and flexibility in choosing the functionality used.

Work on the development of software for technical modeling is being carried out within the framework of two ICCs - "Oil and Gas, Petrochemistry and Subsoil Use" and "Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals" by joint efforts of SIBUR and other companies. The company AEROGAZ has been selected as the developer.

"Import substitution of industrial software is a challenge that requires an unconventional approach and cooperation at the level of the entire industry. We and our partners in the ICC see technological modeling as the key to increasing the efficiency of industrial companies. For example, SIBUR has already implemented more than 50 projects using technological modeling, with a total economic effect of over 5.7 billion rubles. And now our goal is to create a solution that will replace foreign analogues and set new standards for the industry, opening up new horizons for cooperation and increasing efficiency in a large number of Russian industrial companies at once," emphasized Alisa Melnikova, Director of Digital and Information Technologies at SIBUR .
