Enko Chem validates new MOA to accelerate development of crop protection compounds

ew MOA’s are vital to the development of new categories of innovative, safe, pest fighting solutions

Enko Chem, an AI-informed crop health company, announced that the company has validated a unique capability to rapidly discover novel modes of action (MOA) using a systems approach that can effectively unlock solutions for nagging pest resistance problems for growers worldwide. New MOA’s are vital to the development of new categories of innovative, safe, pest fighting solutions.

“There are simply not enough alternatives on the market today,” says Jacqueline Heard, CEO and Co-founder, Enko. “Farmers face the harsh reality of losing 40% of their crops to weeds, insects and disease annually and are stuck using decades-old products that no longer work effectively and where continued reliance is not sustainable."

Enko’s discovery platform, ENKOMPASS, recently identified a new mode of action, a novel weed control target, and biologically active chemical inhibitors in just 4 months using AI-assisted data analysis techniques. The capability can be applied to discover new MOAs for many crop health needs.

Enko’s rapid rate of target discovery has the potential to help the world get ahead of the rate of failing crops, stay abreast of the negative effects of climate change, and feed its growing populations safely.
