At the last hearing held on 14th February, 2024, the counsel of the Central Government stated that the Glyphosate Notification will not be implemented till the disposal of the writ petitions. The matter is listed for further hearing in March, 2024.  All industry associations including CropLife India, Crop Care Federation of India, and Agro Chem Federation of India, Tea Industry Association are petitioners. 

On 27th October, 2022, Sumitomo Chemical India Limited had informed about the Central Government Notification restricting use of Glyphosate only through pest control operators. On 26th November, 2022, Sumitomo had informed about the Petitions filed against the said Notification before the Delhi High Court and subsequent letters informing about the outcome of the hearings of the Petition before the Court from time to time.
