The company will use this capital to execute industrial pilots, expand research, file IP, and strengthen manufacturing
Intrinsic Foundries, a carbon-to-value biomanufacturing platform, has secured Rs. 12 crores (~$1.4M) in a seed funding round led by Transition VC. The startup utilizes proprietary microbial biorefinery technology to convert industrial carbon waste into high-value biochemicals.
The company will use this capital to execute industrial pilots, expand research, file IP, and strengthen manufacturing. Additionally, it plans to scale engineering and commercial teams while establishing a US entity to drive global growth.
Intrinsic has developed a proprietary carbon biorefinery platform featuring Factory 4.0 automated photobioreactors. While currently focusing on industrial carbon capture via microalgae, the company is also developing yeast-based systems. Last year, Intrinsic successfully validated its technology with a continuous, reliable proof-of-concept at a thermal power plant.
Speaking on the fundraise, Shreyansh Jain, Founder, Intrinsic Foundries, said: “Carbon is not waste. It is a resource waiting to be transformed. The economics of carbon capture have been broken for decades because the industry has been trying to bury the problem underground. At Intrinsic, we are using nature-based biological systems to convert industrial emissions into the ingredients that go into your supplements, your food, and your skincare. This funding accelerates our mission to build a circular carbon economy where heavy industries become suppliers to the health and wellness sector.”
