The upcoming plant at Village Qadian, District Gurdaspur, Punjab, will have an expected capacity of 34,000 cubic meters of raw biogas per day
GAIL, Gujarat Gas and Baba Deep Singh Green Power signed a tripartite agreement under the CBG-CGD synchronisation scheme. As per the agreement, Baba Deep Singh Green Power will supply compressed biogas (CBG) to Gujarat Gas Ltd., with GAIL facilitating the transmission to ensure an efficient and uninterrupted supply chain.
The upcoming plant at Village Qadian, District Gurdaspur, Punjab, will have an expected capacity of 34,000 cubic meters of raw biogas per day, which comes down to around 13,600 kilograms of CBG per day.
The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) duties have been given to CEID Consultants and Engineering, who are at present managing the plant's development. The work of CEID includes designing, procurement, and implementing the plant infrastructure in harmony with environmental and safety regulations with the integration of the latest technology to provide operational superiority.
The signing ceremony was attended by Akash Bhawan (ZOIC), Sanjay Arora, Savneet Kaur Pandher, Subandhu Sinha, and Mayur Bhosale from GAIL, while Kanwar Pratap Singh Bajwa, Director of Baba Deep Singh Green Power, represented the plant’s ownership. Abhinav Govil was present on behalf of the EPC partner CEID Consultants and Engineering.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Bajwa, said, "This tripartite agreement is a milestone in our path towards decentralized and sustainable energy solutions. Through the partnership with GAIL and Gujarat Gas Ltd., we believe that the gas from our plant will be easily incorporated into the overall CGD network. This partnership reinforces our drive towards contributing to India's cleaner energy aspirations, especially through the exploitation of agri-residues and organic waste."
Commenting on the collaboration, Govil, said, "We are delighted to be the EPC partner of the Baba Deep Singh Green Power Plant. This is our second plant in Gurdaspur. The first one has already been commissioned and has been successfully injecting CBG into the Gujarat Gas pipeline since last year.”
