NTPC Renewable Energy wins SECI auction for 70,000 MT/year green ammonia supply

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has emerged as the successful bidder in the e-reverse auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on 4 August 2025 for the full capacity of 70,000 metric tonnes per annum (MT/Year) of green ammonia.

NTPC REL has secured this capacity @ Rs. 51.80 per kg. Declaration of COD of 75 MW capacity by a group company of our subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs. of 06.08.2025. With this, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC group will become 82,977 MW.

This is part of SECI larger tender for a total of 7.24 lakh MT/Year of Green Ammonia, spread across 13 locations in India. The e-reverse auction was scheduled for supply of 70,000 MT/Year of green ammonia to Krishana Phoschem Limited, located in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh. NTPC REL has secured this capacity @ Rs. 51.80 per kg.
